Our Commitment to Accessibility
The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is committed to ensuring that every eligible voter and candidate can participate in the 2026 Municipal Election with dignity, independence, and confidence. We recognize that accessibility needs vary from person to person, and we have worked to remove barriers throughout the election process. This includes accessible voting locations, internet voting, accessible voting equipment, alternative formats for election information upon request, and roving voting opportunities for residents of long-term care and retirement homes. Election staff receive accessibility training and are available to provide assistance when requested, while respecting each voter's privacy and independence.
We are dedicated to creating an inclusive voting experience where all electors have an equal opportunity to participate in the democratic process. Accessibility considerations have been incorporated into election planning, communications, voting locations, and customer service to help ensure a welcoming experience for everyone.
For more information about the accessibility measures in place for the 2026 Municipal Election, we encourage residents to review the Town's 2026 Municipal Election Accessibility Plan, which outlines the identification, removal, and prevention of barriers affecting electors and candidates with disabilities.
