Bear Sightings: What To Do If You Encounter A Bear
Bears have been spotted recently near populated areas in Stouffville. Bears want to avoid humans. Most encounters are not aggressive and attacks are rare. But if you feel a bear poses an immediate threat to your personal safety or the safety of others, call 911 or local police.
Celebrating Public Works Week
This week is National Public Works Week. Since 1960, municipalities across Canada have recognized this week in May to educate and engage the community about the essential role Public Works plays in our quality of life. Town facilities will have modified hours over the Victoria Day holiday, including Town Hall, Leisure Centre, Fitness Centre, WS Public Library, Stouffville Arena, Clippers Arena, 19 On The Park, Museum, and 55+ Club.

Flags at Half Mast - Fallen OPP officer Sgt. Eric Mueller
To honour the service of fallen Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer Sgt. Eric Mueller the Town has lowered flags to half-mast at all town facilities. The incident occurred in the eastern Ontario community of Bourget in the municipality of Clarence-Rockland (near Ottawa) early Thursday morning. Our thoughts are with their loved ones & colleagues and with all affected by this tragedy.

Town of Stouffville Launching New Tool to Help Residents Monitor Water Usage and Leaks
The Town of Stouffville has partnered with Vertex One and Neptune Technology Group Canada Co. to offer an online customer water use portal that will help residents monitor their water consumption and avoid costly leaks. The new Water Watch Portal is coming soon and will officially be live on May 29, however, residents can sign up now to be the first to get their water usage information right to their preferred devices.

The Town of Stouffville recognizes May 7-13, 2023 as Emergency Preparedness Week. This week is an opportunity to increase awareness and remind residents how to be better prepared for an emergency.
Stouffville celebrates the Coronation of His Majesty the King and The Queen Consort
On May 6, 2023, the Town of Stouffville will celebrate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen Consort by illuminating our historic clock tower on Main St. in an emerald hue from sunset to midnight local time on both May 6 and May 7.
