Fire & Emergency Services

Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services is responsible for emergency preparedness, inspection permits and fees, and public education. Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services is run by full-time and volunteer staff that provide emergency and educational services to both our urban and rural communities.

Divisions

Fire Suppression

The fire suppression division provides trained personnel—both career and volunteer—to respond to emergency calls utilizing the equipment of the Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services. Fire Suppression personnel respond to a wide variety of incidents besides fires, including medical emergencies, motor-vehicle collisions, ice/water rescues, and hazardous materials incidents.

Support Services

The Support Services division is responsible for Emergency Management, Fire Prevention (including Investigations), Public Education and Administrative Services for the department. The personnel in these areas address legislated requirements, such as assessing community risk, emergency management, and preparedness functions. Support Services also enforces fire code and fire service-related municipal by-laws.

Fire Prevention & Public Education Division

The Fire Prevention & Public Education division completes various types of inspections throughout the community including providing plans reviews for fire protection on various new construction projects. In addition to inspection services, this division also provides public education initiatives through in-person programs and various forms of social media.

The Fire Prevention & Public Education Division is located at Fire Station 5-1.

Training

The Training Division ensures that career and volunteer staff are trained to current Provincial Standards outlined by the Office of the Fire Marshal & Emergency Management. This commitment is required to maintain the level of competency necessary to successfully respond to and deal with emergencies on behalf of the Municipality.

The Training Division is located Fire Station 5-1.
