Notice: Heritage Conservation Districts

This Notice is to advise that in accordance with Section 41 of Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O 1990, Chapter O.18 the Council of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville at its meeting on June 5th, 2024 has made the decision to:

Pass By-laws 2024-068-DS, 2024-069-DS, and 2024-070-DS

To designate Heritage Conservation Districts

Explanation of the purpose and Effect of By-laws

The purpose of these By-laws is to designate the Church Street/Village Centre North, Main Street West/Stouffville Junction, and O’Brien Avene/Village Centre South Heritage Conservation Districts as identified therein and to implement Heritage Conservation District Plans for each of the noted Heritage Conservation Districts.

Filing of Appeal

Any person may, within 30 days after the date of this Notice, June 24th 2024, appeal this By-law to the Tribunal by giving the Tribunal and the clerk of the municipality a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by-law and the reasons in support of the objection, accompanied by the fee of the Tribunal.

No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the council or, in the opinion of the Ontario Land Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
