Notice of Passage: Elimination of Phase-In for Development Charge Rates

Notice is hereby given that on June 26, 2024, the Council of the Town of Stouffville approved the elimination of the phase-in period for development charge rates. This decision follows the passage of Bill 185, which received royal assent on June 6, 2024, and removes the requirement for municipalities to phase in development charge rates.

Effective June 26, 2024, the Town of Stouffville will charge the full 100% development charge rate.

This change is intended to provide the Town with the necessary funds to support infrastructure and community development projects that are essential for sustainable growth. The updated rates will ensure that the Town can maintain and improve vital services and facilities for our growing community.
