Community Involvement:

The purpose of this Council Public Meeting is to consider a proposed Zoning By-law amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision Applications. This is a way for you to offer input and get involved.

Scope of Amendment: To permit the development of ten (10) townhouse units in two (2) blocks of five (5)

What are the Proposed Changes?

The Draft Plan of Subdivision proposes:

  • Ten (10) Townhouse Units within two (2) blocks
  • Three (3) storeys Townhouse blocks
  • 65 Units Per Hectare
The Zoning By-law Amendment Application proposes:

Rezone the lands from Residential One (R1) and Residential Two (R2) to Residential New Four (RN4) on a site-specific basis in addition to a special provision to permit ten (10) – 3 (three) storey townhouse units within two (2) blocks. Each block will contain five (5) townhouse units. Access to the Townhouse units will be from Eastern Gate Crescent.

Any person may attend the Council Public Meeting in person or electronically and make written and/or verbal representation either in support of or against the proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision and Zoning By-law Amendment Applications. Appeal Procedure:

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville before the proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision is approved or refused and the Zoning By-law Amendment is adopted or by-law is passed or refused, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville to the Ontario Land Tribunal.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville before the proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision is approved or refused and the Zoning By-law Amendment is adopted or by-law is passed, or refused, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
