Winter Parking Restrictions and Linda Mainprize Toys For Tickets Program return December 1st

The Town of Stouffville is gearing up for the winter season with two important initiatives: Winter Parking Restrictions and the Linda Mainprize Toys for Tickets program, both starting on December 1st. These measures aim to keep roads safe and provide holiday support to local families in need.

Winter Parking Restrictions in effect December 1st – March 31st

To ensure effective snow clearing and maintain safe road conditions, on-street parking is prohibited from 2 AM to 6 AM between December 1st and March 31st annually. Additionally, all on-street parking is strictly forbidden during winter maintenance operations. Any on-street parking permits are void during active snow-clearing activities. Residents are asked to utilize off-street parking options and to share these regulations with any visitors during this time frame. Toys for Tickets: Turn Fines into Holiday Joy

The Linda Mainprize Toys for Tickets program returns, offering a unique way to pay parking penalty notices (tickets) while supporting the community.

“The Linda Mainprize Toys for Tickets program reflects the generous spirit of Stouffville, said Mayor Iain Lovatt. “It’s a meaningful way to turn a simple parking fine into a chance to brighten the holidays for local families in need. This initiative shows the true heart of our community.”

As part of the program, parking tickets issued by the Town between December 1st and 15th can be paid by donation. Gifts must be in their original packaging and the value of the donation (before taxes) must match or exceed the amount owed on the Parking Penalty Notice. Proof of purchase and the Parking Penalty Notice must be presented at the time of donation.

Donation suggestions include new unwrapped children’s toys; non-perishable food items such as canned fruit, vegetables, soups, stews; clothing for infants and children and gift certificates for teenagers.

Donations can be made at the Municipal Offices, 111 Sandiford Drive, Stouffville, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Donations are accepted between December 1st and December 18th. Donations will be distributed through the Stouffville Lions Club and the Stouffville Food Bank.
