Pedestrian Crossover Construction to Begin on Main Street
Construction of a pedestrian crossover on Main Street is expected to begin the week of November 6 and is anticipated to continue until at least the end of the year (2023), depending on the supply of required materials. The work will extend from approximately 30m west of Lloyd Street to approximately 30m east of Freel Lane.
New Draft Official Plan Council Meeting Cancelled
The Town has released a memorandum announcing the deferral of the adoption of the Town’s new Official Plan. This decision comes after a statement released by Paul Calandra, Minister of Municipal Affairs & Housing earlier this week. Minister Calandra will soon be introducing legislation to reverse Official Plan decisions and wind back provincial changes to a number of new Official Plans, including the Region of York Official Plan.
Construction Update: Highway 48 & Stouffville Road
The Ministry of Transportation has provided an updated regarding the culvert rehabilitation project at Highway 48 and Stouffville Road/Main Street. Although the project has not yet been completed, as of today, Friday, October 20 all interim traffic measures have been removed. The culvert rehabilitation project will resume in Spring 2024.

Final Draft of Official Plan going to Council November 1
The Final Draft of the new Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville Official Plan will be presented to Council on November 1, 2023, at 2 p.m. for potential adoption. After Council approval, it will be submitted to the Region of York for final approval.
Upcoming Water Swabbing Program: Important Water Usage Advisory - October 22/23, 2023
The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville Water & Wastewater Department with the help of the Ontario Clean Water Agency will be conducting a Watermain Swabbing program in portions of eastend Stouffville (see map) Sunday October 22, 2023, from the hours of 9:00 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2023.
Median construction to begin on Main Street at Palmwood Gate on October 23
Stouffville has recently entered into an agreement with the Region of York to begin the construction of a landscaped median along Main Street. This project will extend from the existing median's endpoint to the intersection of Palmwood Gate and Mostar Street. Construction activities are tentatively scheduled to commence on October 23, 2023, with the anticipated completion date set for December 15, 2023, barring any unfavorable weather conditions.
Town Of Stouffville Celebrates its 75th edition of ‘On The Road’ in Whitchurch-Stouffville Magazine
The 75th edition of On the Road in Whitchurch-Stouffville (OTR) was mailed out to residents on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Launched back in 2016, OTR was originally created to share messaging from the Town with residents more cost effectively than through traditional advertising with local print media. The publication has now become much more than an advertising tool for the municipality.
Thanksgiving Holiday Hours
Town facilities will have modified hours over the Thanksgiving Holiday, including Town Hall, Leisure Centre, Fitness Centre, WS Public Library, Stouffville Arena, Clippers Arena, 19 On The Park, Museum, and 55+ Club.
