Notice of Construction: Road Preservation - Various Locations (Towns of Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Newmarket and Whitchurch-Stouffville)
Description
- York Region is applying a road preservation treatment, called microsurfacing, to:
- Yonge Street, Orchard Heights Boulevard to St. John’s Sideroad and Savage Road/Sawmill Valley Drive to Davis Drive
- Prospect Street, Gorham Street/Water Street to Davis Drive
- Green Lane, 2nd Concession to Leslie Street
- Vivian Road, east of Highway 404 to Woodbine Avenue
- Davis Drive, Leslie Street to Harry Walker Parkway
- Leslie Street, St. John’s Sideroad to north of St. John’s Sideroad
- It is a common and cost-effective way to maintain roads with minor defects and extend the life of the road
- The road surface can feel rougher and sound noisier after the treatment, but over time, the stones will settle and the surface will become quieter
