Community Involvement:

The purpose of this Virtual Public Meeting is to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment. This is a way for you to offer input and get involved.
What are the Proposed Changes?

The Zoning By-law Amendment Application seeks to:

  • Rezone the subject lands from Residential Three (R3) to Commercial General (CG) with site-specific exceptions [CG(X)] to permit an Apartment Building in addition to permitted uses on the property.

Additional site specific provisions are to be provided regarding:

  • Minimum lot area;
  • Minimum rear yard setback;
  • Minimum yard abutting a Residential Zone;
  • Minimum parking requirements;
  • Landscaping of an interior side yard abutting a Residential Zone; and,
  • Landscaping between street and parking areas.

Any person may attend the Council Public Meeting in person or electronically and make written and/or verbal representation either in support of or against the Zoning By-law Amendment Application. Please contact the Town Clerk at clerks@townofws.ca before noon the day prior to the Public Meeting to register to speak electronically. Appeal Procedure:

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a Council Public Meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville before the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment Application is adopted or by-law is passed, or refused the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
