Town Hires New Director of Leisure & Community Services

The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is pleased to announce the hiring of Rob Braid as the Town’s new Director of Leisure & Community Services.

Braid joins Stouffville from the Town of Newmarket where he served as the Director of Parks and Facility Services and brings over two decades of experience in the municipal sector which includes leadership positions in facilities, parks, and recreation. In addition, he has also spent time in leadership roles within the non-profit and private club sectors.

“We are very pleased to have Rob join our team as our new Director of Leisure & Community Services” said Stouffville Mayor Iain Lovatt.  “Rob brings a wide array of skills and experiences that align well with the Leisure and Community Services team and offers a strong history of staff collaboration, development, and leadership”.

Braid has participated in master planning exercises, as well capital and operating budget development, project execution and oversight.  Prior to his work in Newmarket, Braid has worked for other GTA municipalities, including the City of Vaughan and Town of Ajax.

“I’m looking forward to building on the tremendous successes Stouffville has achieved over the last 12 months and I couldn’t be more excited to join this creative team of professionals to help continue that momentum and assist with integral projects this year and beyond”, said Braid.

Braid’s first day with Stouffville will be on Monday, May 8, 2023.
