Group Fitness

The Town of Stouffville offers a range of group fitness classes to help people of all fitness levels get active and reach their wellness goals. View the group fitness program schedule and learn how to get a membership or pass to attend group fitness programs.

Aquafit in a low impact class done in the water that trains cardiovascular fitness and muscle conditioning. Moves are adaptable for all fitness levels. This program is great for those that love the water or for staying active while recovering from injury.

This class is a form of body conditioning that involves endurance training, resistance training, higher-intensity aerobics, and exercises performed in a circuit, similar to high-intensity interval training (HIIT). It targets strength building and muscular endurance.

In our Boot Camp classes, simple dynamic moves are put together to increase your cardio and strength. Modifications are available for those just starting out.

This is a balanced class that trains both cardio and strength. Build or maintain heart health, increase metabolism and strengthen and tone muscles. A warm-up builds into the workout and stretching is included in the cool down. 

Easy to follow moves are put together in this dance inspired class. No dance experience is required. Achieve long term benefits from these calorie burning body energizing moves!

Join us on a stationary cycling journey. Varied tempo and intensity levels allow each participant to challenge themselves but stay with the group. Cruise in the saddle and sprint or stand to climb hills as you complete your journey with upbeat music.

This class provides a low impact workout that lengthens and strengthens muscles of the body resulting in enhanced joint mobility.  Essentrics® is a gentle flowing class that increases metabolism, tones muscles and leaves you energized.

This class is great for beginners, individuals recovering from injury or those wanting to maintain or improve their health. The cardio component enhances heart and lung function, while the strength component improves balance, flexibility, bone density and coordination.

There is a light warm-up but no cardio component in this class. Improve bone density, strength, muscle tone and metabolism using a variety of weights. Those starting out should start slowly and build gradually.

This class provides a gentle calming approach to physical fitness encouraging proper breathing and relaxation techniques. Poses or postures are held, developing strength and flexibility.

This style of yoga is characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike.

This class offers a mixture of Pilates and yoga. You will get a workout that improves core strength, posture and flexibility. The Pilates exercises are aimed at strengthening the core abdominal muscles which support the spine and assist in good posture.

Zumba features easy to follow moves put together to create a one of a kind workout! Experience the long-term benefits of calorie burning, body energizing moves. Those starting out should start slowly and gradually build intensity.
