PARKING

Appealing a Parking Ticket

Once issued, Valid Parking Tickets will not be canceled or reduced.

  • Lack of knowledge of parking by-laws is not accepted as grounds for dismissal of parking tickets
  • The fact that other vehicles are parked improperly does not constitute a valid excuse or grounds for the dismissal of parking tickets
  • As per Service Ontario, accessible permits must be placed face-up on the dashboard or attached to the turned-down sun visor showing the permit number and validation dates clearly from outside the vehicle. Appeal online for a review if you have an accessible permit, however it was not displayed correctly. Please note that each municipality determines which exemptions and responsibilities are afforded to holders of these permits, and our municipality does not allow for any exemptions.

Adjudications/appeals must be submitted within 30 calendar days of issuance of the ticket date using one of the request options listed below.

Past parking records will be considered in the Parking Appeals screening review.

If an emergency or other extenuating circumstance is used for this appeal, a copy of any supportive documentation must be submitted at the same time you submit this appeal. Examples of supportive documentation may include doctor/hospital notes or receipts, mechanic repair receipts, tow receipts, or other official forms of documentation. To submit additional documentation please email us. Please reference the ticket number, license plate number, your name, and phone number when sending additional documentation.
