New Public Mural Coming to Downtown Stouffville

A vibrant new mural is underway in Downtown Stouffville, celebrating our community’s deep roots, diverse cultures, and shared future through bold imagery and the symbolic Tree of Life. Created by local artist and educator Colin Whitebread, the piece invites reflection on unity, heritage, and connection. To ensure safety during the mural's creation, Church Street (southbound from Main to Commercial) will be closed from May 28 to July 4.

Town of Stouffville Unveils Bold New Visitor Plan to Boost Tourism and Local Economy

The Town of Stouffville, in partnership with Central Counties Tourism, has launched its 2025–2028 Visitor Plan to grow tourism and position the Town as a must-visit destination. The plan outlines 26 action items focused on agri-tourism, downtown revitalization, and digital promotion through the newly acquired “Discover Stouffville” brand.

Former Stouffville Council Candidates Convicted of Municipal Act Offenses

On May 28, 2025, two former candidates from the 2022 Whitchurch-Stouffville Municipal Election, Justin Altmann and Keith Singer, were convicted for failing to file financial statements as required under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Each was fined $10,000 plus a victim fine surcharge by the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket.

Fast Track Building Permit Program Returns for Summer 2025

Court Dismisses Bethesda Sports Park Legal Proceedings

The Ontario Superior Court has dismissed a lawsuit against the Town of Stouffville over a 2021 conditional offer for Bethesda Sports Park. The court upheld the Town’s position that it acted appropriately and never listed the park for sale. Mayor Lovatt reaffirmed Council’s commitment to planning and community interests.
