Mayor Lovatt’s contest returns!
Interested students in grades 5-7 can win the opportunity to be the Mayor of Whitchurch-Stouffville for the day!
- School pick-up in a firetruck
- Certificate from Mayor Lovatt recognizing you as the Mayor for the Day
- An afternoon (Wednesday, June 19) at Town Hall featuring a behind-the-scenes tour of various Town facilities
- Dinner with the Mayor
- Opportunity to open up the 7 p.m. Council Meeting in Mayor’s seat
After reading the submission guidelines and speaking with a parent/guardian to obtain permission to participate, submit your entry by email to mayor@townofws.ca! No purchase necessary.
Deadline to submit: May 17, 4:30 p.m.

- Applicants must submit either an essay (500 words max.) or a 2-minute video with their thoughts on the following 2 questions:

- Why do you want to be the Mayor for the Day?
- What are 2 ideas (programs or policies) that we as a municipality could implement to improve quality of life in the Town of Whitchurch- Stouffville?
- Applicants must clearly explain their ideas. For example, how will your ideas benefit the town and its residents? How would your ideas be implemented?
- Entries will be evaluated based on creativity and feasibility. One entry per student.
- Entries must be submitted by email to mayor@townofws.ca by Friday, May 17, 2024 4:30pm.
- Applicants must be residents of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville and be enrolled in Grades 5 to 7 at a school within the Town.
- The winner will be selected by Mayor Lovatt and the Mayor for the Day Committee.
- All submitted entries become the sole property of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville and may be used without remuneration or liability.
- No purchase necessary. Before filling out the below form, all applicants must speak with a parent/guardian to obtain their permission to participate.
