Project Overview 

The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has prepared the Water and Wastewater Master Plan Update to identify long-term water and wastewater infrastructure needs and servicing strategies to support growth to 2051. The Water and Wastewater Master Plan will: 

• Provide a strategic vision for the next thirty years to accommodate future growth. 
• Refine servicing strategies to reflect current priorities and the state of the systems and facilities. 
• Ensure safe, sustainable, and optimized water and wastewater services. 
• Provide a business case for the need, timing, and cost of water and wastewater infrastructure in an integrated process. 

The Master Plan was initiated in 2022 and followed Approach #1 of the master planning process. While the Master Plan generally addresses Phase 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class EA (MCEA), additional investigations will be carried out at a later date and published to meet Schedule B or C project Class EA requirements or approvals through the Planning Act.
