The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville has prepared the Water and Wastewater Master Plan Update to identify long-term water and wastewater infrastructure needs and servicing strategies to support growth to 2051. The Water and Wastewater Master Plan will:
The Master Plan was initiated in 2022 and followed Approach #1 of the master planning process. While the Master Plan generally addresses Phase 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class EA (MCEA), additional investigations will be carried out at a later date and published to meet Schedule B or C project Class EA requirements or approvals through the Planning Act.
With the exception of personal information, all comments received during the Class EA process will become part of the public record of the study.
The Water and Wastewater Master Plan 2024 is being undertaken as an update to the 2018 Water and Wastewater Master Plan, which generally includes the following tasks:
This study is being undertaken by Approach #1 of the Master Planning process as set out in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 and 2015), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. This approach involves the preparation of a Master Plan document after Phases 1 and 2 of the Class EA process where the level of investigation, consultation, and documentation will satisfy the planning requirements for Schedule A, and A+ projects and provide the basis for future investigations of any identified B and C projects.
