Safety advisory: Unauthorized Hunting in Rouge National Urban Park

The Town of Stouffville has been notified of potential unauthorized deer hunting in the Rouge Valley, including the Northeast area of Rouge National Urban Park. Hunting and the use of firearms is strictly prohibited in Rouge National Urban Park, given significant public safety risks. Effective Friday, September 19, Parks Canada has temporarily closed the some trail areas to ensure public safety, including Glasgow Day Use Area at 1867 Concession Road 2, Whitchurch-Stouffville. These areas will re-open for visitor use on Monday, September 22, 2025. Visitors are asked to respect signage, follow the direction of onsite staff and report any safety concerns to Parks Canada Dispatch at 1-877-852-3100.

Edward Street Improvements Now Complete

The Town Stouffville is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Edward Street Reconstruction Project, marking a major milestone in the Town’s infrastructure enhancement initiative. These improvements were delivered on schedule, within budget, and align with the Town’s goals of increasing safety, walkability, accessibility, and environmental quality throughout the corridor.

Spray Pad Season is Coming to a Close

The Town of Stouffville has begun the soft closure of its spray pads as the summer season winds down. However, the Town will reopen the pads if temperatures rise above 25°C, allowing residents to cool off during any remaining warm days.

Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services and Kidde Unite to Support at-risk Communities

Today, fire safety brand, Kidde and Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services announced a new partnership to help equip local families with the knowledge and tools they need to stay safe from fire. WSFES received 174 Kidde battery operated smoke alarms through the Kidde Cause for Alarm fire safety campaign–a public education campaign with the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council. The campaign will provide more than 1,900 alarms to residents across Ontario. WSFES was one of the 17 Ontario fire departments to be selected for this campaign.

Notice of Temporary Closures: 19 on the Park & Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum

Please note the upcoming temporary closures due to scheduled maintenance: 19 on the Park will be closed from September 2 to 11. The Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum will be temporarily closed for maintenance and collections care from September 8 to 12. Museum staff will be available by appointment only. Notice of Construction - Memorial Park Trail Connection

August 29, 2025

Construction on the new Memorial Park Trail Connection, located west of Thicketwood Boulevard, is scheduled to begin in September 2025 and continue through June 2026. Work will take place on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. During this period, entry to Memorial Park will be closed to the public.
