TAKE NOTICE that on June 26, 2024, the Council of the Town of Stouffville passed municipal-wide Community Benefits Charge By-law No. 2024-086-FI on the 26th day of June, 2024 under section 37 of the Planning Act, 1990, S.O., 1997 c. 27.;
Memorial Park Multi-Purpose Trail Opening Update
We are excited to announce that the new multi-purpose trail at Memorial Park is opening for use. Work is being done today to open up the park in time for residents to enjoy the trail for scooters, rollerblades, and walking this weekend. This inclusive space provides a wonderful opportunity for all ages and abilities to engage in recreational activities.
Town Of Stouffville Takes Legal Action To Ensure Compliance With Zoning By-Law
The Town of Stouffville has obtained an interim court order to enforce compliance with its Comprehensive Zoning By-law concerning the property located at 6165 Vivian Road, Whitchurch-Stouffville. The Town started the legal action to address and prevent the unauthorized use of the property at 6165 Vivian Road as an event and party rental venue, ensuring its use aligns with the permitted uses set out in the Town's zoning regulations.
Service Disruption: Recreation Registration Site
Please be advised that there will be a temporary service disruption on Tuesday, July 9, 11 p.m. - 7 a.m. for Stouffville's recreation registration website (ActiveNet) for regular maintenance. Registrations for all programs will be unavailable during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Bear Sightings: What To Do If You Encounter A Bear
Bears have been spotted recently near populated areas in Stouffville. Bears want to avoid humans. Most encounters are not aggressive and attacks are rare. But if you feel a bear poses an immediate threat to your personal safety or the safety of others, call 911 or local police.
On-Street Parking Restrictions and Road Closures for June 29 to July 2
Please be advised of the following road closures and temporary parking restrictions in effect this long weekend for Strawberry Festival, Main Street Classic Car Show and Canada Day Fireworks. Park Drive, from Burkholder St. to the Leisure Centre Driveway (2 Park Drive) will be closed Monday, July 1, 6 a.m. through Tuesday, July 2, 12 p.m. for Canada Day Fireworks. Main Street (from O'Brien Ave to Park Dr) will be closed for the Main Street Classic Car Show on Saturday, June 29, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Burkholder Street, from Park Dr. to the Leisure Centre Driveway (2 Park Drive) will be closed Monday, July 1, 6 a.m. through Tuesday, July 2, 12 p.m. for Canada Day Fireworks. To accommodate The Strawberry Festival, on-street parking will be restricted to one side of the street on many of the streets surrounding Memorial Park. Notice of Passage: Elimination of Phase-In for Development Charge Rates
Notice is hereby given that on June 26, 2024, the Council of the Town of Stouffville approved the elimination of the phase-in period for development charge rates. This decision follows the passage of Bill 185, which received royal assent on June 6, 2024, and removes the requirement for municipalities to phase in development charge rates.
