Special Needs/Adapted Recreation

The Town of Stouffville is committed to offering inclusive recreation programs that everyone can participate in. Explore the adapted recreation programs available with special accommodations and assistive devices.

Adapted aquatics program

Our Play Buddies program offers one on one support in swim classes for those who qualify. Volunteers help individuals build their swimming and water safety skills while working on personal bests and socializing with other classmates.

We support the Lifesaving Society's inclusion statement:

The lifesaving society swim program is inclusive and strives to meet the individual needs of each participant. This incorporates the Canadian Swim to Survive standard by recognizing all Canadians deserve the chance to learn basic swimming skills.
