Community Gardens

Established in 2014, the Town of Stouffville’s community gardens on public land provide residents with the opportunity to grow vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers. Raised accessible plots are available. All garden plots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with returning gardeners given first right of refusal.

The Community Medicine Garden at the Jean-Baptiste Lainé Site was implemented in 2025 by a team of dedicated volunteers and guidance from the Odeiwin Foundation. The garden was successfully planted, tended, and harvested, deepening connections to the land, traditional teachings, and one another.

Located along the trail just south of Lost Pond Crescent, the garden brings Indigenous medicine plants and knowledge into a shared community space, fostering learning, wellness, and respect for the land.

The garden is in its second season being cared for by the community. We thank everyone who contributes their time, and cares for the garden. Volunteer involvement has helped this garden grow into a meaningful place of learning and connection.
