Comprehensive Zoning By-law

We are updating our Town-Wide Comprehensive Zoning By-law and Town-Wide Urban Design Guidelines to be even more user-friendly, and tailored to Stouffville’s local context. These documents will ensure that future growth and development are implemented in a manner that is consistent with the Official Plan and reflective of the community’s unique characteristics, needs, and aspirations.

The Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2010-001-ZO was passed by Town Council on March 2, 2010 and subsequently approved by the Ontario Municipal Board by Order dated January 13, 2011. This Office Consolidation only reflects amendments that have come into force and effect as of the date of this Consolidation.

Under the Order of the Ontario Municipal Board the new zoning was deferred on certain lands that were subject to appeals. For these deferred areas, the provisions of the Town's former General Zoning By-law 87-34 continue to apply.

Ontario Regulation 172/20, Ontario Regulation 770/21, Ontario Regulation 610/20, Ontario Regulation 160/25, and Ontario Regulation 255/25 are Minister's Zoning Orders in accordance with the Planning Act.

The orders do not form part of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville's Zoning By-law.
