Parking permits

As part of the Town's ongoing roadway rehabilitation program, asphalt milling and paving operations on the eastbound lane of Main Street, from Highway 48 to 5417 Main Street, are scheduled to take place from September 21 to September 22, 2026, weather permitting.

Upcoming Work/ Duration

• Asphalt milling and paving operations, starting at 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Approximately 300 metres of the eastbound lane will be temporarily closed
• Eastbound traffic will be diverted into a single shared lane within the westbound roadway on the north side of Main Street.
• Two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone and controlled by the contractor in accordance with the approved traffic control plan.

Impact to travellers

Moderate to significant traffic impacts are anticipated during the work. Temporary lane closures and partial road closures will be required; however, access to the roadway will remain open at all times. Traffic will continue to be permitted between Highway 48 and Ringwood Drive throughout the duration of the project.

Additional signage and traffic-control measures will be installed to help motorists safely navigate the construction area.

McCowan Road, from Bethesda Sideroad to Bloomington Road, will be closed at 7 p.m. on Monday September 14, to 7 p.m. on Tuesday September 29, 2026 to complete paving

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained

Beginning on Friday, May 1st, 2026 Burkholder Street between Park Drive and the Leisure Centre Driveway (2 Park Dr) will be closed every weekend. The closure will be in effect every Friday from 3:30 p.m. to Monday at 8:00 a.m. (Tuesday of a long weekend) until Monday, September 28th.
